Biography

Gardener used to be the Chief Fire Dog for the City of Porterville. His handler is the former Fire Chief and he went to work at the Fire Department every day as a Facility Dog & Therapy Dog. Gardener was donated to the department after a devastating fire ended in the tragic loss of two firefighters. Fun Fact… He is named after the City's very first Fire Chief! Gardener's job was to bring comfort and distraction to his fellow firefighters and to the community in times of need. Gardener's handler recently retired and he now lives in Long Beach, Washington.

Gardener knows no strangers, and loves everyone he meets! He is the quintessential “good boy” who has never had a bad day!
